Emmanuel McClue's highly educated parents thought it was the ideal job. They had been hired by an anonymous benefactor to travel all over the world investigating miracles and spiritual mysteries.

They were confident that they could use modern knowledge to unravel ancient secrets. But then they found out the job could be dangerous for themselves and their son. It would test their courage, as well as their skills.

Their adventures lead them to Argentina where Emmanuel befriends a mysterious boy, pursued by a sinister cult. The boy is unaware that he is the subject of a controversial experiment and a startling secret.
